3 Hacks Every NetSuite User Should Know

If you’re reading this article, chances are you’re already using NetSuite at work. Or perhaps your company is in the process of implementing a customized version of the cloud ERP platform.

Netsuite is a robust solution with high customizability, and because of this it can be hard for users and firms to be efficient with their NetSuite workflows if they are new to the platform.

Today, we’ll be sharing with you 3 NetSuite tips that will help you gain better productivity from your ERP solution.

Let’s get into it!

Automate with NetSuite Workflows

Automate with NetSuite Workflows

Are tedious manual actions in NetSuite taking up all your time? Luckily, you don’t have to continue executing manual processes in NetSuite due to their robust workflow automation capabilities.

When thinking of NetSuite Workflows, consider them a representation of all your business processes operating in the NetSuite system. All of these processes are able to be automated and customized to your current business operation needs.

To begin creating NetSuite Workflows, make sure your NetSuite Workflows feature is enabled. You can check under “Customization” > “Scripting” > “Workflows”.

If you’re unsure where to begin, start with the 3 basic NetSuite workflow templates already provided:

  1. Sales order basic approval
  2. Purchase order basic approval
  3. Journal entry basic approval

Create an on-brand experience for employees

From both the organizational culture and employee experience perspectives, using platforms that are on-brand with the company can leave a lasting impression on users.

Often times we believe company branding is only experienced by customers who come into contact with a company and/or its products and services.

However, companies with strong branding guidelines also use internal branding to create a collective impact and lasting impression on employees who come into contact with the firm.

NetSuite enables companies to create their own aesthetic employee experience with customizable colors and themes.

Extend manual email recipients

Another quick win for NetSuite users like yourself is extending your email lists. (This is mainly for users that have not yet created a custom script to automate their business email process.)

Here’s a quick overview of the transaction email lists that you can manually extend:

  • Sales orders
  • Purchase orders
  • Product fulfillment
  • Customer invoices

Start by entering the name of the main email recipient.

Then, proceed to select “Lists” of your choice, or manually enter other emails by separating them with a semicolon.

As you continue to build on your NetSuite knowledge, you’ll uncover more power and potential in its customization, especially when integrated with platforms like Kloudio.
